The company's background
 Pro Kontrol Inc. was founded in 1985 with the
goal of offering the HVACR market a new counselling
approach for the wholesaling of control products. At that time, Pro
Kontrol was the first wholesaler in Quebec which was exclusively specialized
in HVACR controls.
Pro Kontrol's first branch
opened its doors in 1985 on Bégin St. in Ville St.
Laurent. Pro Kontrol's success was immediate. One
year later, Pro Kontrol inaugurated its Quebec City branch in Neufchâtel.
In 1987, the tendency was to proceed with acquisitions and diversification.
Pro Kontrol therefore acquired the Monclair
Radio & Refrigeration Supplies Company in St. Joseph de Beauce. This gave birth to the "
Monclair Pro Kontrol " banner
as a wholesaler in refrigeration and controls.
A few years later in 1991, Pro Kontrol reverted
to its original mission as a control specialist and was bought out by one
of its actual owners and once again adopted the Pro Kontrol banner.
At that time, the company moved to the Laval centre industrial park.
In 1994 Pro Kontrol bought out a Quebec City competitor, the Vanicon company. Since that time it serves the market
in the Quebec City
region from its branch in Ville Vanier. Finally, in 1998 Pro Kontrol bought
out Servec 1996 Inc. in Quebec City. The personnel and operations
of Servec were then amalgamated with those of Pro
Kontrol in Ville Vanier.
In spite of this eventful background, Pro Kontrol always offered its
clients incomparable technical service, and is still the head runner in the
distribution of controls within Canada.
In June 2002, we're expanding nationally. Pro Kontrol opens a branch in Toronto. This
addition confirms, once more, our position as a national leader in HVAC
controls. And this is only the beginning!
